Nike Coach of the Year Clinic- Hartford

High School coaches from around CT and surrounding states became the students this past weekend in Windsor, CT as some of the best College Football coaches from around the country gathered to put on the 2010 Nike Coach of the Year Clinic.

Bobby Bowden was the Keynote Speaker on Friday Night in possibly one of his final speeches. With the second most wins in the history of college football, it was no wonder he had the undivided attention from every coach attending the event. He did not disappoint and was happy to sign autographs and take pictures afterward. The NFP Sports team was lucky enough to get one of the pictures with the two-time national champion coach of Florida State University.

Randy Edsall, Head Coach of the Connecticut Huskies kicked off Friday morning with a bang as he discussed “Defensive Back drills and Quarters coverage.” Many of the high school coaches were impressed with his lecture, saying he has been great every year so far.

NFP Sports sponsored the Friday afternoon Lunch Break as well as the Friday night social for coaches at Buffalo Wild Wings. The booth setup allowed us to interact with coaches from around the northeast. New equipment and travel expenses lead most coaches to look for new and effective fundraising strategies, and that is exactly what we offer at NFP.

If they weren’t looking for a way to fundraise, they were looking for a way to get their sugar fix as NFP baked cookies throughout the event. They were a hit to say the least. Our cookie dough fundraiser is always rewarding for players and coaches.

Working these Coaching clinics is an excellent way to develop new relationships with coaches and further our dedication with coaches we have worked with in the past. The NFP commitment of local service with national reach, along with our understanding of an athlete’s and coach’s competitive mentality keeps us on the same page with every team we work with.
